How an online nutrition consultation works

From a booking request to the follow-up months

If you have never had a nutrition consultation, the practical questions come first: what happens on the call, what you need to prepare, how long it takes, and what you walk away with.

Orientation

What the whole sequence looks like

This page walks through the whole sequence, from the booking request to the follow-up months. Nothing on it is a necessary step you have to guess: each stage below explains what happens, how long it takes, and what you get at the end of it.

Read it in order if you are new to online nutrition coaching. If you only want one answer, the ruled index underneath is the fastest way in.

01

A free intro call, ten to fifteen minutes, before anything is paid.

Intro call
02

An intake form by email, about twenty minutes to complete, plus three or four days of your food diary.

Before first session
03

The first full consultation, 45 to 60 minutes over video, where the first one or two changes get agreed.

First session
04

A written summary by email, and a first individualni jedilnik where it applies.

Written materials
05

Follow-ups of 30 to 40 minutes, spaced by what the goal actually needs.

Follow-ups
06

A broader review every few sessions, where stalled progress and shifted goals get named.

Before the first session

Filling in the intake form well is the most useful thing you can do

After your booking is confirmed, you receive an intake form by email. It asks about medical history, medications, allergies, current eating patterns, sleep, activity, and what you want to change. Filling it in properly takes about twenty minutes.

You will also be asked to keep a prehranski dnevnik for three or four days before the appointment, including one weekend day. A rough record is fine. The point is to see the real pattern, not a polished version of it.

Keep the form honest rather than flattering. A week that included two late dinners and a skipped lunch is more useful than the week you wish you had. Nothing in the form is read as a judgement; it is the raw material the first session works from.

The free intro call

Usually ten to fifteen minutes. It covers what you are dealing with, what you have already tried, and whether online nutrition coaching is likely to help.

If the answer is no, you will hear it on that call. If the case needs a doctor or a hospital dietitian, that gets said early too. There is no cost and no obligation either way.

The first full consultation

The first session runs 45 to 60 minutes over video. You go through the intake form together, then work through the food diary, then agree on which one or two changes to make first.

The conversation is diagnostic in the practical sense: what you eat, when, why, and what happens afterwards. Protect the time — do not book it in a fifteen-minute gap between meetings.

What the materials look like

After the session you receive a summary of what was discussed, the specific changes agreed, and a first version of your individualni jedilnik where relevant.

Expect it to be revised at least once in the first two months as you report back on what worked.

Follow-ups are shorter, and scheduled by the goal

The structure is consistent: what changed, what did not, what got in the way, and what to adjust. Reviewing a food diary again at this stage is normal and useful, because eating patterns drift.

30–40

Typical follow-up length in minutes, over video.

Length
2–3

Weeks between sessions when digestive troubleshooting is the focus.

Digestive work
4–6

Weeks between sessions for long-term metabolic work that settles into a rhythm.

Metabolic work
1–2

Typically, weeks from booking request to the first full consultation.

Start to session
2–3

Working days for an answer to a short question about the plan between sessions.

Email reply

Ranges, not promises: the spacing is agreed session by session, and it moves when your week changes.

You are not left alone between appointments

Short questions by email about the plan are part of the service, and the answer usually comes within a couple of working days. This is not an emergency channel, and it is not a substitute for medical care. If something changes medically, tell your doctor first, then tell us, so the plan can be adjusted around it.

What you need, and what to have nearby

A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera, a stable connection, and somewhere you can speak freely for an hour. A kitchen is useful but not required during the call itself. No special software beyond a standard video link.

Notes are easier if you have your food diary and any recent lab results in front of you. If you take supplements or medication, have the packaging nearby for the first session.

A quieter table helps: the call works better when the room around it does too.

What this is not promising

No diagnosis. No prescriptions. No promise that a specific symptom will disappear by a specific date, and no plan built on eliminating entire food groups without a reason.

Removing foods has costs, and they are only worth paying when there is a real trigger. Where a food intolerance is suspected, the approach is structured testing rather than permanent avoidance on a hunch. That distinction saves people months of unnecessary restriction.

If a case belongs with a doctor, a gastroenterologist, or a hospital dietitian, that gets named on the intro call rather than after three paid sessions.

Fewer foods removed, more foods understood: restriction is a last resort, not a first move.

How progress is reviewed over months

Every few sessions, the plan gets a broader review: what has changed since the start, what has stalled, and whether the original goal still matters.

Goals move. Someone who arrives wanting to lose weight often ends up more interested in digestion or energy by month three. Review points are also where referral happens. If progress stalls for reasons outside nutrition, that is worth naming rather than working around.

01

First full consultation. The intake form and the food diary get read together, and one or two first changes are agreed.

Week 1
02

Written summary and first version of the individualni jedilnik arrive by email within a few days.

Days after
03

First revision of the plan, usually inside the first two months, once you report back on what worked.

Month 2
04

Broader review every few sessions, including whether the original goal still matters or has moved.

Month 3+

Getting started

The path is short: send a booking request, take the free intro call, complete the intake form and food diary, then have the first full consultation.

01

Send a booking request from the contact page. Include a sentence or two about what you want to change; it makes the intro call more useful.
